Creative Backstage Workshops for Schools, Colleges and Universities
Bring backstage creativity into your classroom with practical, industry-informed workshops from Backstage Builders CIC. Learners can explore scenic art, prop-making, set design, sustainable production and careers across theatre, film, television and live events. Sessions combine hands-on making with professional insight, helping participants develop creativity, confidence, teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills.
Curriculum and Key Stage Links
Key Stage 2 Workshops support Art and Design and Design and Technology through exploring materials, experimenting with techniques, developing ideas and creating finished work for a purpose.
Key Stage 3 Learners respond to creative briefs, research ideas, develop designs, test materials and evaluate their work. Sessions can support Art and Design, Design and Technology, Drama and careers education.
Key Stage 4 workshops can complement GCSE and vocational learning in Art and Design, Design and Technology, Drama, Performing Arts, Creative Media and related subjects. Activities can support research, experimentation, practical skills, teamwork and portfolio development
Key Stage 5, Colleges and Universities: Sessions provide industry-focused learning through live briefs, specialist practical skills, sustainable production methods, professional practice, portfolio development and insight into employment and freelance careers.
Workshops can also contribute to careers education by introducing less-visible creative roles and showing learners how their interests and skills can lead to real opportunities in the creative industries. Choose from a focused taster session, a half- or full-day workshop, a multi-session programme, or a bespoke project shaped around your learners, curriculum, and available budget.
